SALSA (Safe And Local Supplier Approval) is a food-safety standard written by experienced food safety experts to reflect both the legal requirements of producers and the enhanced expectations of 'best practice' of professional food buyers.
SALSA certification is only granted to suppliers who can demonstrate to an auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.
SALSA is a non-profit making joint venture between FDF, NFU, British Hospitality Association and British Retail Consortium. The Institute of Food Science and Technology operate the scheme throughout the UK.

Our products are certified by The Vegan Society to be suitable for consumption by vegans. The Vegan Trademark is the authentic international vegan standard and is managed by The Vegan Society; the charity that created the word 'vegan' back in 1944.
An experienced team work with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure that each product meets the highest vegan standards and is renewed on a yearly basis to ensure that the most up to date information is available for all the products that are certified. The Vegan Society defines ‘animal’ to include the entire animal kingdom (vertebrates and multicellular invertebrates).
There are many ways to embrace vegan living but the one thing all vegans have in common is a plant-based diet avoiding all animal foods such as meat (including fish, shellfish and insects), dairy, eggs and honey - as well as avoiding animal-derived materials, products tested on animals and places that use animals for entertainment.
